Roblox has removed an integral component of the game. The developer explained that it was due to a licensing issue.



On Tuesday the massively multiplayer online game's developer Roblox Corporation announced the decision on Twitter and announced that the launch of a replacement on the platform.



"Related sounds," Roblox has removed the "oof!" sound and created an initial sound that will be available today, the company tweeted.



As Kotaku notes, the "oof" sound was invented by a former game composer and Intellivision CEO Tommy Tallarico and it's not the first time Roblox has run into licensing issues related to it.



If you are thinking, "oof" refers to the sound that a character makes when they die or reset. However it has evolved from a simple exclamation to an iconic rallying cry for the Roblox community.



Roblox announced that it will soon expand its Avatar Shop which is where you can buy custom-made clothes, accessories, and other items, along with "old" and "new" sounds.
